MARTHA PECK BUCKENHAM
The ancestors and relatives of Martha Peck Buckenham, that are mentioned
in the Wills of members of the Leeke, Peck and Waters families.
FAMOUS RELATIVES
Three of the grandparents of James Ronald Hardiman, the compiler of this
website, are cousins of Charles III, through John Leeke and Alice Grey
of Beccles, Suffolk. Georgina Annie Corderoy (1902) has two descents,
William Henry Hardiman (1898) has one descent and Thomas James Mitcham
(1884) has one descent. Both grandfathers are descendants of Edward I,
through George Sparrow, which makes my parents half 9th cousins once removed.
John Leeke
and Alice Grey of Beccles, Suffolk, are also the ancestors of the Royal
Family, Winston Churchill and Bear Grylls.
The Rev Robert
Peck, and his brother Joseph Peck snr, emigrated from Hingham, Norfolk,
England to Hingham, Boston, Massachusetts, in 1638. They are the ancestors
of eight actors and three actresses, well known for appearing in movies
and on the television. Their sister, Martha Peck Buckenham, is the ancestress
of James Ronald Hardiman.
George Parkhurst
is the ancestor of a further four actresses.
Oliver de Vaux
and Petronilla de Craon are the ancestors of six actors and four actresses,
through Margaret, Henry and Agnes Wentworth, three of the four children
of Margery Despencer.
Oliver de Vaux
and Petronilla de Craon are the ancestors of a further three actors and
seven actresses, through Philip Wentworth, the fourth child of Margery
Despencer.
Oliver de Vaux
and Petronilla de Craon are the ancestors of a further three actors and
eight actresses, through Maud de Roos.
The Rev Robert
Peck, his brother Joseph Peck snr, and their sister, Martha Peck Buckenham,
trace back further to Henry de Grey and Isolda Bardolph. They are the
ancestors of a further nine actors and eight actresses, as well as Lady
Jane Grey, the nine day queen in 1553.
My descent
from Edward I, showing how I am related to Bear Grylls, Elvis Presley,
Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough. I am also related to Henry Fitzroy,
the illegitimate son of Henry VIII.
Through Henry
de Grey and Isolda Bardolph, James Ronald Hardiman, the compiler of this
website, is the 19th cousin six times removed upwards of Eyre Coote, the
Governor of Jamaica from 1806 to 1808. Eyre Coote is the four greats grandfather
of Colin Powell, US Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005. Eyre Coote is
also the six greats grandfather of James Ronald Hardiman's grand nephews
and nieces.
